mission drive within everything
To contribute while avoiding the dark path toward NFN (but I have less than 12852 xp 'till godhead!).
I *wish* my specialties were governments, intentional community (which includes but is not limited to communes), software, what to do with that extra million dollars that just sitting in my checking account. You know, that sort of thing.
(not relevant to my presence here)
People are not likely to listen to your truth while you're shouting it at them.

Scott would like to think that he can think deep and write well but he is out of practice after submitting to wage-slavery and relying on Borland compilers to catch all his grammar errors. The trouble is that he can't find a decent compiler or lint utility for English. He is a SparkMatch Boy Scout and, for the most part, agrees with the assessment. This puts him in good company on E2. He rarely speaks of himself in the third person.

Enough of that.

I've been through the Everything FAQ and am most of the way through Everything University. I've found a mentor in artemeis entreri.

Although I can't seem to find the etymology of athame, I find it hard to believe that it isn't related to attame.

I'll keep looking...

Wouldn't "...the intelligence and infinite organizing power that silently maintains and guides the evolution of everything..." be, like, nate, dem_bones, or N-Wing? (Or is EDB the power behind the throne?)
Oops. I should have followed the link, first.

Ego over-inflation warning. Stand back.
factgirl wrote this about me:

If I were an E2 God I would bless ScottMGS because of:
  1. He listens to his dreams.
  2. He is assimilated.
  3. Factual and/or informative nodes.
  4. He knows there is a time to throw in the towel.
But I'm not a God, I'm a just a factgirl so I voted up 10 of your best nodes today.

I think factgirl is a goddess!

I was going to add the following to the (recently deceased) node "What's on your answering machine?":

You've reached the _____'s Psychic Hotline. We know who you are. We know why you're calling. (pause) Beep.

We came home one day to find this recording by a newby telemarketer:

Um... It says it's a psychic hotline. (mumble from other telemarketer or supervisor) It says they know who we are and why we're calling. (more mumbles) ... Oh. (click)
