Meet the PA Noders
- Ahab
I live in Pittsburgh and grew up (though I am not exactly sure if the growing up is done yet), in the suburb of Fox Chapel to the northeast of downtown. There isn't much to say about Fox Chapel. According to the Census (if you believe them), the area has the highest median income, as well as the highest education level of any municipality in the state. So in other words, if you are stabbed, sued or need a lecture in philosophy, you need not look far for assistance.
- alk214
I am from North Philadelphia.

I enjoyed living in Philly most of the 90's. Some of the places I miss most are the Khyber Pass Pub, J.C. Dobbs, Fairmount Park and the Parkway. For two years now I've lived in a rural part of northeast PA, in Carbon County. Perhaps someday I'll get motivated to node this area, about 2 hours drive north of Philly. In the meantime, I'll not miss an opportunity to stop by Geno's when I'm in the city, or take a stroll along Penn's Landing.
- artoodeetoo
I live in the wondrous city of Johnstown again, having recently moved back from Indiana (the state) and earlier having gone to school in Washington (the city in PA).
- Big Willy
Horsham. Right up 611 from Philly. Or get off the Pennsylvania turnpike at exit 27 and head north. Now my home back home...
- blaaf
No longer in Taiwan, I now live on campus at UPenn here in University City, Philadelphia in the Quad, 36th and Spruce.
- brassmule
I live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Roughly halfway between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and 30 minutes north of historic Gettysburg. Odds are, you've never heard of it, and never will again. Unless, maybe, you're a trucker, and happen to travel through the town on I-81 or I-76, enroute to some place better than what you will see here. It exists for your comforts; we are a truck stop town, albeit bigger than you average pit stop. We also have the US Army War College, of international renown, which again, you probably have not heard of or ever will again. "Not to promote war, but to preserve peace." Thus sayeth Eli Root, whose significance I know not, but whose words of wisdom adorn the front entrance to the barracks.
- Chad Reasco
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Currently, none other than South Park, about twelve miles south of Pittsburgh. I'll be headed off to the University of Pittsburgh in the fall to study social work, hopefully securing me a job in UPMC's Children's Hospital when I'm older. My life will be complete if I am hired at Dave and Andy's Ice Cream, 207 Attwood Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Their chocolate chip cookie dough is the best..... mmmm.....
- digdug
Northeast Philadelphia.

I bounce between Hanover, Lancaster, and State College PA.

Like Mojo Jojo, i also live in Broomall. It's the suburbs. What can I say? If you ever stop buy we can go be vandals or something of the sort. Maybe you can meet some of my friends besides Mojo. I'd like to brag about Broomall/Marple Newtown but nothing special ever really happens here. We've got lots of malls and the biggest mall on the east coast is a half-hour away. Got drugs too. Low crime rate. Oh yeah we live 20-30 mins from philly. If you have never been to philly you're missing out. We have some amazing food. Enough of it actually to be considered the fattest city in the US. We also have a lot of soul but we aren't big enough for you to feel lost in.
- Frisina
Hello! I am a student of computer engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where I finally decided to settle down for my undergraduate work. You might catch me at any of the many Anime conventions in the US, as I find them very entertaining. I'm a bookworm, and a computer geek. I am not a stereotypical worm/geek. Food is good - I like food! Send me some, and you will be rewarded! Talk to me - I like stimulating conversation, and interesting people.
- generic-man
Hi, my name is Jason Weill, Andrew ID jweill, and I'm a member of the School of Computer Science class of 2003 at Carnegie Mellon University.
- in10se
I live in Shadyside in Pittsburgh. I used to attend the University of Pittsburgh, now I just work here. Looking for something to do in the Steel City? How about having fun at Kennywood, riding the inclines, visiting the Carnegie Museum or Science Center, eating a Primanti Brothers sammich, going to a Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins game, going to the top of the Cathedral of Learning, being weirded out at the Andy Warhol Museum, getting confused by the strange traffic behaviors, or just trying to understand the locals. (NOTE: I'm the guy in charge of this registry)

I've lived in University City for the past 2 years now, and I still do not know where Pat's is at. And just as long as it's Rita's wooder ice, I'm there. Unfortunately, there's only one I know of, on South Street. That's two things Philly does NOT have -- an abundance of Malls, and Rita's. Fortunately, there's The Ghettory on 9th and Market, but that's pretty much it.
- mblumber
I'm a student at Drexel University and live in University City.
- McCart42
I live in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, (when I'm not at CWRU in Cleveland, Ohio) but I call Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home (mostly because no one's ever heard of Saxonburg). I'm thinking about graduate work in computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and if I don't go to school there after I graduate I'll definitely want to get a job in Pittsburgh - I just love the city and the suburbs.
- Mojo Jojo
I live in the yuppie 'burbs of Philadelphia in the town of Broomall. If you ever feel the need to come and pay me a visit, we can prolly take a quick trip to Garden China and get some foodstufts. If you ever seriously need to know where I live to mail me shiznit or whatnot, just /msg me for my mailing addr, I don't feel like people having the opportunity to send me random stuff. Oh yeah, and someone hire me, I'm just a youngin, but I know my share of *nix, Perl and SQL, and I work for cheap, just ask my school.
- Mr. Frog
I currently live in Pittsburgh, attending Carnegie Mellon University. However, I grew up in the small North Hills suburb of Hampton. I am a Mechanical Engineering student with minors in Robotics and, my passion, Jazz Performance. Most of my time is spent attending shows, jam sessions, getting lost in the Scaife Galleries of the Carnegie Museum of Art, and attempting to graduate.
- NetCurl
Yeah, I'm moving back to Lewisburg, PA (hour north of Harrisburg) in Jan. to do my graduate work. Any PA noders, or any noders for that matter, are welcome for a place to crash or just a drink...
- NickABusey
Lilitz, PA

Hi, Everythingites! I'm in Pittsburgh. I live at / go to Carnegie Mellon University. That's really all there is to say, considering that I don't do anything except node. But if for some strange reason you're looking for somebody who goes to CMU, here I am.
- pvb
I was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, grew up mostly in Wayne, PA. Western suburbs of Philadelphia for those unaware. I went to Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA, probably because my parents didn't want me to go to public school at Radnor HS, which isn't that nice of a school. I go to college in Boston, MA now. That's me. If you know me...that's kind of scary.
- richardcranium
I reside in Oil City and work 8 miles distant in Franklin. They are in Western PA about halfway between Pittsburgh and Erie. I got here via Slashdot and got there after reading about Rob Malda in Technology Review.
- s_drey
I'm an engineering major at Drexel University. I live in Trevose. My interests include clubbing, good music, art and anime. If you're in the area, let me know, I can guarantee good time.
- SB5
I live in the steel city. Home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I live in a burb near downtown. It is about a 20 to 30 minute drive to get downtown but that is due to traffic and hills. If you come to Pittsburgh visit one of the Primanti Brothers sandwich shops. They make the best sandwiches in the world.
- sekicho
Currently on hiatus from Philly, due back in town in January 2007.
- sleeping wolf
State College. No, I'm not a student, nor a professor, nor staff, nor otherwise affiliated with Penn State. It supposedly was the best place to live in PA according to Money Magazine in 1997, though that's not reason to live here. I find myself irritated, though, every time I can't find a place that sells some part or thing I need around here -- this place is small, particularly when the students are gone.
- Tlachtga
Living in Philly again after moving around the state - gotta love a city with a bigger inferiority complex than myself. Hanging out in University City, and drinking all over Center City. If you wanna find me, look for the Brick Playhouse or Temple University, where I work at the library. That or various bars and record stores around South Street. Always up for a gathering.
- Two Sheds
In West Philly for grad school at the University of Pennsylvania
- Uberfetus
Yo! I live just outside the City of Brotherly Love. Youze guys wanna head down to Pat's and then go out for wooder ice?
- Wind
I live just outside of Harrisburg, PA.
- wunderhorn1
WHO'S DOWN WIT THA UNIVERSITY CITY CREW?? Awww yeah. Livin' in the 215 here, studying at Drexel University and cooping at a software development firm. If anyone's down with a Philly gathering, I'm game. And I don't even talk like this in real life!
- zoinksbear
I live in Marysville, a podunk little town which is 7 miles outside of the capital, Harrisburg. No one has ever heard of this town, I'm sure. The only thing the town has of interest is the Rockville Bridge, the longest stone arch bridge of it's kind in the world. It was built in 1902, and a celebration is scheduled to honor it this year.
