A comic book company co-owned by DC Comics and Marvel Comics that has published about 24 single-issue comics since the mid-1990s. Amalgam's gimmick is that it publishes comics that blend elements from both DC and Marvel -- hence, they had characters like Super-Soldier, who was a combination of DC's Superman and Marvel's Captain America; Dark Claw, who looked like a cross between DC's Batman and Marvel's Wolverine; Iron Lantern, who was part DC's Green Lantern and Marvel's Iron Man; Spider-Boy, half Marvel's Spider-Man and half DC's Superboy; and even Lobo the Duck, a very silly character who embodied DC's Lobo and Marvel's Howard the Duck. They were fairly popular when they were released, especially among hardcore comics fans, but DC and Marvel haven't been getting along that well recently, so who knows if they'll ever get together to make another wave of Amalgam again...

- "Amazon" by John Byrne - Amazon (Wonder Woman/Storm) must battle Poseidon to learn how her parents died.
- "Assassins" by D. G. Chichester and Scott McDaniel - Gotham City's toughest bad girls, Dare (Deathstroke the Terminator/Daredevil) and Catsai (Catwoman/Elektra) must fight their way through an army of assassins employed by Gotham's mayor, the Big Question (the Riddler/the Kingpin).
- "Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." by Chuck Dixon and Cary Nord - It's espionage and gun battles as Bruce Wayne's top S.H.I.E.L.D. agents take on the evil forces of Hydra.
- "Bullets and Bracelets" by John Ostrander and Gary Frank - Diana Prince (Wonder Woman and -- well, that's it, really) and Trevor Castle (Steve Trevor/the Punisher) must travel to Apokolips and face Thanoseid (Darkseid/Thanos) in a desperate bid to save their son.
- "Doctor StrangeFate" by Ron Marz and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez - The mysterious Doctor StrangeFate (Dr. Fate/Dr. Strange) enlists the aid of Skulk (Solomon Grundy/the Hulk), Jade Nova (Jade/Nova), and the White Witch (Zatanna/the Scarlet Witch) to capture Access (a character co-owned by both DC and Marvel).
- "JLX" by Gerard Jones, Mark Waid, and Howard Porter - The JLX--including Mariner (Aquaman/the Submariner), Apollo (the Ray/Cyclops), Nightcreeper (the Creeper/Nightcrawler), Firebird (Fire/Phoenix), Mercury (Impulse/Quicksilver), Runaway (Gypsy/Rogue), Wraith (Obsidian/Gambit), and Mr. X (the Martian Manhunter/Professor X/Bishop/the Skrulls) must escape from both the JLA (Justice League of America/the Avengers) and the Sentinels if they are to discover the secret of Atlantis.
- "Legends of the Dark Claw" by Larry Hama and Jim Balent - It's the Dark Claw (Batman/Wolverine) and Sparrow (Robin/Jubilee) vs. Hyena (the Joker/Sabretooth), with the life of the President at stake.
- "Magneto and the Magnetic Men" by Gerard Jones and Jeff Matsuda - Magneto (Magneto/Will Magnus) leads his Magnetic Men (the Metal Men/the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants) against Sinistron (Brainiac/Mister Sinister) to save mutantkind.
- "Speed Demon" by Howard Mackie, James Felder, and Salvador Larroca - If the Speed Demon (the Flash/the Demon/Ghost Rider) wants to stop the Night Spectre (the Spectre/Nightmare), he'll have to get through Uatu the Guardian (the Guardians of the Galaxy/the Watcher), Hal Jordan (Hal Jordan/Starbrand), and the Green Goblin (Two-Face/the Green Goblin) first...
- "Spider-Boy" by Karl Kesel and Mike Wieringo - It's another busy day for Spider-Boy (Superboy/Spider-Man) as he must stop both Bizarnage (Bizarro/Carnage) and King Lizard (King Shark/the Lizard).
- "Super Soldier" by Mark Waid and Dave Gibbons - The Living Legend of World War II, Super Soldier (Superman/Captain America) is revived in the present day and must battle two old foes: the Green Skull (Lex Luthor/the Red Skull) and Ultra-Metallo (Metallo/Ultron).
- "X-Patrol" by Karl and Barbara Kesel and Roger Cruz - A newly-formed team of mutants -- Elasti-Girl (Elasti-Girl/Domino), Shatterstarfire (Starfire/Shatterstar), Beastling (Changeling/the Beast), Ferro Man (Ferro Boy/Colossus), Dial H.U.S.K (Dial H for Hero/Husk), and Niles Cable (Niles Caulder/Cable) -- must defeat Doctor Doomsday (Doomsday/Doctor Doom) before he can conquer the world.
Wave II:
- "Bat-Thing" by Larry Hama and Rodolfo DaMaggio - A monster stalks the streets of Gotham, born of science and swamp gas. It's part plant, part animal, and all vengeance -- and all who know fear, burn at the touch of the Bat-Thing (Man-Bat/Man-Thing)!
- "Challengers of the Fantastic" by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett - The Challengers of the Fantastic (Challengers of the Unknown/Fantastic Four) have made their careers by cheating death, but can any of them survive the coming of Galactiac (Brainiac/Galactus)?
- "Dark Claw Adventures" by Ty Templeton - Based on the -- ahem -- Dark Claw animated series, this comic follows Dark Claw and Sparrow as they do battle with Lady Talia (Talia/Lady Deathstrike).
- "The Exciting X-Patrol" by Barbara Kesel and Bryan Hitch - The X-Patrol is back, with a new member, Jericho (Jericho/the Thing), but can they stand against the evil of Brother Brood (Brother Blood/the Brood)?
- "Generation Hex" by Peter Milligan and Adam Pollina - Journey with us back to the Wild West as Jono Hex (Jonah Hex/Chamber), Madame Banshee (Madame 44/Banshee), Johnny Random (Johnny Thunder/Random), Skinhunter (Scalphunter/Skin), White Whip (the Whip/the White Queen), Retribution (Firehair/Penance), and the Trigger Twins (Cinnamon/Aurora and Northstar) teach the little town of Humanity a lesson in tolerance.
- "Iron Lantern" by Kurt Busiek and Paul Smith - The Invincible Iron Lantern (Green Lantern/Iron Man) has his work cut out for him as he must defeat H.E.C.T.O.R. (Hector Hammond/MODOK), Madame Sapphire (Star Sapphire/Madame Masque), Great White (Shark/Orca) and Mandarinestro (Sinestro/the Mandarin).
- "JLX Unleashed" by Priest and Oscar Jiminez - When an evil dragon called Fin Fang Flame (Brimstone/Fin Fang Foom) is loosed upon the world, the JLX, including Mr. X, Apollo, Nightcreeper, Runaway, Amazon, Iceberg (Ice/Iceman), and Chaos (Spitfire/Havok), must escape from prison to save a world that hates and fears them.
- "Lobo the Duck" by Al Grant and Val Semeiks - Trapped in a world he never made, the sociopathic biker duck bastard called Lobo the Duck (Lobo/Howard the Duck) roams the Manhattan wasteland, seeking sex, violence, and a plotline.
- "The Magnetic Men featuring Magneto" by Tom Peyer and Barry Kitson - Magneto's back, the Magnetic Men are back, and would you believe they're fighting even more evil robots?
- "Spider-Boy Team-Up" by R. K. Sternsel and Ladronn - Spider-Boy teams up with three different versions of the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099 (the Legion of Super-Heroes/a buttload of Marvel characters) to take on everyone from the Scavulture (Scavenger/the Vulture) to the Frightful Five (the Fatal Five/the Frightful Four) to Kang the Time Conqueror (the Time Trapper/Kang the Conqueror).
- "Super Soldier: Man of War" by Dave Gibbons and Mark Waid - It's the adventures of Super Solider during World War II! Even with the assistance of Sgt. Rock and his Howling Commandos (Sgt. Rock and Easy Company/Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos), will Super Soldier be able to defeat both Lex Luthor and the War Wheel?
- "Thorion of the New Asgods" by Keith Giffen and John Romita, Jr. - Thanoseid and L'ok D'Saad (Desaad/Loki) plot to bring about Ragnarok. Can Thorion (Orion/Thor) stop them in time?
