A county in central Pennsylvania, the entirety of which smells of manure. It is mostly relatively flat farmland, with an extremely strong German heritage. This is the stronghold of the Amish, Pennsylvania Dutch, Mennonites, and other Anabaptists. There are probably more horses and buggies here than anywhere else.

Other than that, well, it's peaceful, proper, and Pennsylvanian. Little more need be said.

The government homepage of this county (yes, they have a modest web presence), is at http://www.co.lancaster.pa.us/
There you may find information on everything from concealed weapon permits to restraining orders to Y2K compliance.
