I find it somewhat amusing that the citizens of our nation vilifies Braves reliever John Rocker for exercising his First Amendment rights to offer his view of the world however skewed it might be, and in the same breath applaud Bobby Cox for his managerial skills, and sweep under the rug the fact that he cheats at baseball, and more importantly, beats his wife. John Rocker = villain. Bobby Cox = hero. Does anyone else see a problem with that?

The difference is that Rocker insulted other people, made a blanket statement that might have included someone you know. That's just wrong! Anyone can see he's an idiot! He's an intolerant redneck! But Bobby Cox... well, it was just one person, and well, you know, she probably deserved it, and, um, he's a REALLY good manager.
