Neon is a processor rumored to be in development by Transmeta working with Linus Torvalds. As rumor has it, Neon is expected to be a low power x86 CPU, that adheres to RISC architechture... and is rumored to be completely programmable in architechture and instruction sets. Great idea, I'd really like to hear people say "hold on, I'm downloading a new CPU". However, this may just be fluff, lies, rumors, or groundless nonsense.

(So named (Greek neon, "new") in 1898 by Sir William Ramsay, it's co-discoverer) An inert chemical element, one of the noble gases, that is tasteless, odorless, and colorless, found in small quantities in the earth's atmosphere and used in discharge tubes, gas lasers, bright electrical signs, etc.
