Released in 1996 by Warp Records, BLECH is a 70-minute mix of Warp's lineup including, but not limited to Aphex Twin, Jake Slazenger, Nightmares on Wax, and Squarepusher.

The underlying theme of the album is digital noise and Ninja Tune style dance rhythms; a bit too 'intelligent' to dance to, a bit too relient on novelty to listen to for any length of time.

Although this type of music was heard throughout dance venues in the UK for several months after release, it has dated very badly¹.

The sleeve also points at the novelty value of the album with manga, faux-katakana² and a distinctly mid-90's graphical style. It was designed by The Designers Republic.

1) I partially retract that statement. It takes a while to get you're brain back into BLECH, but it can be done, and it can then be enjoyed.
2) Some is correctly used, but some is typical mid 90's "Japanese is Cool!" style.
3) Track numbers are as given on the sleeve.
