When
Ronald Reagan was Governor of
California, he signed a
resolution that
edicted that
Ketchup was a
vegetable. This was in order for the
public school system to be able to claim
ketchup as part of the required amount of a
food group for schoolchildren's lunch. It supposedly saved taxpayers an exorbitant amount of money as ketchup is much cheaper than
carrots, and became the ironic slogan for intellectuals all over the state as a reference for what actually was a vegetable.
The thing is, ketchup is a
