It has been repeatedly mentioned here, that Artificial Intelligence is just something that in some ways resembles human mind, but that doesn't necessarily work by the same principles. That it is thus a greedy reductionism (a simplification that omits something essential) that may include some ability of reasoning and probabilistic methods, that may make it to resemble human mind more, yet it is not quite the same. Artificial consciousness is an effort to make something that works by the same principles as a human mind or a conscious entity. Different from Artificial Intelligence, it is mostly a research effort, aimed to create a system that works by these principles, and such systems in their current state may often not be advanced enough for practical applications.
