The German spreadable sausage teewurst is a Bavarian specialty.

The soft smoked sausage is made in fine or coarse textured varieties, similar to pate or terrine. The sausage mix is based on pork and beef, and it is seasoned with rum (often Jamaican),white pepper, allspice, and sometimes a little ginger.

Due to the ease of spreading this sausage, it is a popular addition to open-faced sandwiches, or as finger food on small pumpernickel rounds. Alternatively, sliced pieces can be deep fried for a crispy and unctious side-dish, to serve with potato and saurkraut.
