During the premiere screening of Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos in 1997, host by Doug Mulray, he apparently called Channel 9 and told them "get that crap off the air." During a takeover bid of Fairfax, he arranged for him to be interviewed on Channel 9's A Current Affair. He later also arranged for his son, James Packer to be interviewed on same for other business-related purposes.
