He is an important character in Terry Pratchett's book, Small Gods.

The God Om had been reduced to the status of a small god since he people had stopped believing in Him. Instead they worshipped the Church of Om and its empty structures. He is a reference to both Yaweh and Jesus Christ. As Yaweh he is a smiting, old-fashioned God that mettes much punishment to defying worshippers. Events in the book change him with the help of Brutha and he becomes a fair, compassionate God.
