The Net is a skimpy attempt to cash in on the once booming Internet hype. Apparently it worked. The film stars Sandra Bullock who tries very hard to act with one expression.

But please, for the love of god, will someone finally explain to me what happens in the film? I've seen it some 3 to 5 times already. During those years I can honestly say I've known and understood a lot about networks and computers and even followed some pretty darn complicated plots. But The Net is still a complete mystery to me.

What's on the disk? What does she infect in the end? Where can I get IPs with decimal numbers greater than 300? What happens? Who did what, where and why? Why all the trouble?

Can some one please explain it to me. I don't want to have to watch the movie again. Thank you.
