zeppole is a famous
Naples fried
cake .
Here you have the
recipe taken from my mother's kitchen book:
- milk 500 gr
- flour 500 gr
- butter 150 gr
- salt (just a little bit)
- lemon skin
- 6 eggs
Boil the milk with butter, lemon and salt. Then add flour. When it becomes cold, add the eggs (one at a time) and mix it all.
Take a pan full of oil and with a syringe fry the mixture by shaping it in a donut form.
Spread sugar on it.
Yuuuummm! That's good!
