zeppole is a famous Naples fried cake . Here you have the recipe taken from my mother's kitchen book:
  • milk 500 gr
  • flour 500 gr
  • butter 150 gr
  • salt (just a little bit)
  • lemon skin
  • 6 eggs
Boil the milk with butter, lemon and salt. Then add flour. When it becomes cold, add the eggs (one at a time) and mix it all.
Take a pan full of oil and with a syringe fry the mixture by shaping it in a donut form.
Spread sugar on it.
