airtime

Term used by roller coaster enthusiasts to describe the time when you get pushed up out of your seat by the negative g's on the ride. Usually experienced at the crest of a hill that is short enough as to not bleed off too much speed.

The time that the safety devices in the trains are most necessary to keep you from flying free through the air for that brief moment until you hit the ground.

Airtime is a term for the time a piece of media is broadcast or otherwise transmitted. It is a reference to broadcasting being known as being on the air. This term is most commonly used with broadcast television or radio.
