David Weiss and Don ("Don Was") Fagenson, from Detroit, land of Motown and the revolution-rock of the MC5. Their original concept was punk-dada disco music, but gradually became more mainstream. Weird cameos: Mel Tormé, the MC5's Wayne Kramer, Ozzy Osbourne, et al. "Knocked Down, Made Small" was like a Supremes tune (Holland-Dozier-Holland's "Stop! In the Name of Love", especially the chorus) rewritten on acid. Hit: "Walk the Dinosaur" - they had, by then, ditched the fun psychedelic mindfuck foole-ishness, but it was nice to see them on MTV.
