All of my quiet concrete
Became loud and
full of light
These ruined white hallways yawn
wide open
Where they once stood empty
like the grave.

All these voices echo from
Stone walls clad and
wrapped in insulation
The living walking thick
where it was I
Out there in the empty
lipstick-streaked, hollow-eyed
wreckage and salvage
like the beginning and the end.
