T station between Downtown Crossing and Broadway in Boston. Four stops from MIT; the sixth stop from Harvard. A connection point to Commuter Rail. On the Red Line.

I wrote a playlet about readers of Vladmir Nabokov after sharing a subway car with a cute intellectual somewhere 'round about here.

"Entering...South Station. Change here for the commuter rail."

The terminus of many of the MBTA's Commuter Rail lines, and the end of Amtrak's train service along the Eastern seaboard. In theory, the North-South Rail Link will eventually&connect South Station to North Station, even if this will involve building another multimillion-dollar tunnel underneath downtown Boston.
