she sat in the grass, watching the sky in the distance. the wind swept her hair. the water was swallowing the sun.
(& she wanted to follow)
the wind blew like mad today. the water crashed against itself. i felt sure that a tornado would come spiraling down from the clouds. the boat crashed against the dock.
as the sun sank, clouds rolled in to blanket the straining stars, & for a moment, everything slowed down. the wind calmed, the water slowed. even the boat stopped crushing itself against the dock. but it only lasted for a moment.
lightning comes on like a searchlight; the gods are looking for the escapee.
she lies back and her hair fans out around her.
the wind returns, & it blows her away.
(hours spent, watching them watching her.)
