such poetic hurt!)
Like an unturned page
consummate marble dove
I will not let this work
on me.
Can’t you see honey?

I’d inhale your eyes
until reality, dawn,
and stork

awake this dream and
hold you dry, spooning
and kissing always hey
I’d even raise your
kids, starve
myself. Eat

But I cannot betray
our trust, I must
be left alone.
