Yes, I am a
sort-of pacifist, so this isn't what you might think. No, playing
Hunt the Bureaucrat involves going to your
campus,
place of work, or local
government office and attempting to actually locate a person who might be able to
help you. It generally involves some
fun bouncing from place to place,
thrilling conversations with
surly secretaries, and hours of
scintillating doublespeak with
low-level bureaucrats.
Winning Hunt the Bureaucrat is accomplished when you find the person who has the
answer to your
question, before your question becomes
moot or you
starve to death or
die of old age. Whether or not this person actually HELPS you is so up to
chance that it's not part of the
game.
But to tell the
truth, I
have considered picking up my
sword and stalking into the
Dean's office instead. You may get better
results with this method.
