The Federal Security Service, previously known as Federal
Counterintelligence Service (FSK) is one of the successors
of the
KGB. It is a 75.000-person
agency, headquarterd in the Lubyanka.
The FSB is allowed to open mail, tap telephones, monitor other forms of communication, and enter a private residence. (with court permisson, of course...)
SORM empowers the FSB to monitor all the internet traffic in Russia.
