Space hero that originally appeared in the British comic The Eagle in the 1950s. The artwork on the series by creator Frank Hampson was fantastic and space craft and futuristic landscapes were drawn with incredible detail. Arch-enemy was a little green man with a huge head called The Mekon who ruled over a race called the Treens and he had a faithful sidekick called Digby.
The character was resurrected when the comic 2000AD was launched in 1976 but didn't really work the second time around.
