Bruenor Battlehammer is a character in the
Icewind Dale trilogy among others. He is the great grandson of
Gandalug Battlehammer and current King of
Mithril Hall. He is an orange (rusty) haired dwarf and wielder of a battleaxe. He also possesses a
small shield with the
emblem of his clan (a beer mug I believe).
He rescued Cattie-Brie when she was young and had her family killed by goblins, and as a result, adopted her as his daughter. He is also the blacksmith mentor and pseudo-father of Wulfgar whom he cared about very much.
He is believer of two dwarven gods: Clangeddon and Moradin. Proof of his appreciation/idolatry can be seen in Aegis-Fang.
