Combined with a suitable amount of
magic boomerang waving, these three
magic words invoked the strange occult powers of
Lady Elaine Fairchilde, curator of the
Museum-go-round in
Mr. Rogers'
Neighborhood of Make-believe, and
witch.
Voiced by Fred Rogers in a rhaspy falsetto, a properly enunciated "Boomerang! Toomerang! Zoomerang!" can sound menacing or benificent, but in either case also sounds rather silly, similar to The Amazing Mumford of Sesame Street's "A'la Peanut Butter Sandwiches!" This makes it a perfectly wonderful nonsense phrase suitable for a children's program featuring arcane magic.
