In
NetHack, wearing this
ring will cause you to randomly
teleport, that is
teleport at
random times to a
random location. You can control the location (but still not when it actually happens) by wearing a
ring of teleport control or gaining
intrinsic teleport control. Wearing this
ring is a
risky way to try to
escape from
danger.
A cursed ring of teleportation causes the symptoms of teleportitis, but this version is easily "curable" by uncursing and removing the ring.
Teleportation caused by the ring causes the wearer to become hungrier with each teleport.
