Perhaps a drink less interesting than the story, but...

I had taken a walk on Manhattan's lower East Side, and I saw an interesting dress shop.

I'm not sure of the date, it was sometime in the Eighties, but I can remember what it looked like.

It had black walls, and a tin ceiling, and had, of all things, a drinks bar.

The dresses had a low hemline, floral prints...otherwise unremarkable...and I don't remember whether this place had a liquor license, except for this amazing drink.

Plain soda. Ice. A few dashes Angostura bitters. Stir.

They called it a "Charger". Well, it recharged me.
