I awoke to the warmth of sunlight streaming through the window and the feel of deeahblita's arm as it lay across my waist. Our knarphie lay curled beside us with ebony and hummel sleeping around us (I have a queen and a half sized bed). I stepped out of bed and took one last look at my sleeping menagerie of leetle ones as I turned into the bathroom for my shower. Twyla sat waiting for me on the edge of the sink when I emerged from the steamy pour of hot water.

It's Saturday and we all slept in late but the smell of the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and peppers and lots of oregano that I cooked for breakfast and that of the brewing tea brings everyone from their slumber. I set the dogs loose into our enormous fenced in yard while knarph, deeahblita, wuukiee, and mcc sit on their stools at the kitchen bar eating and sipping and quietly coming into the world for a new day.

Breakfast done I sit curled in a nook reading my book while birds chirp outside my window. When I finish I meander through the house and find wuukiee and mcc napping on a bed and curl myself around her.

The evening sky that night is crystal clear and illuminated by the full moon that hangs overhead and we set out with the dogs to walk the forest paths to the waterfall by moonlight. Not many words have been spoken all day and the night is no different. We simply walk and soak in the sounds of the world around us.

Eventually a quiet conversation arises and our minds begin to follow paths similar to those our feet are traveling, winding their way though thoughts and ideas. We sit and admire the waterfall for a little while before we turn around and head for home.

Afterwards we listened to music, and watched a little tv until we all fell asleep in a great puppy pile. Sometime in the middle of the night I wake to the feel of dee's hands moving across my breasts. I roll and kiss her as we make love in the most comfortable place in the world: home, surrounded by my pack.

My day was perfect.

I listened to the words of a small child once as she told her teddy bear a tale of her perfect day. She made me realize that if you don't know what you want there is no way you can strive to bring it into your live. My perfect day still exists only in my mind, and these electrons, but I can see it more clearly now, and I can strive to create a life where it has the possibility to come into being.
