Street name of New York Jewish mobster Arthur Flegenheimer. Lived fast, died young (1902 - 1935). Especially known for his crudeness and lack of respect for anybody. The subject of numerous works of semi-fiction, such as The Gangster Wars, Hoodlum and Billy Bathgate. On his deathbed he was delirious and said a bunch of whacked-out shit, immortalized by police stenographers and adapted by William S. Burroughs as The Last Words of Dutch Schultz.
