A term that refers to
Jane Goodall,
Dian Fossey and
Birute Galdikas. These
three women are known for the
primate they specialized in, specifically the
Great Apes. Goodall is the leading
primatologist in
chimpanzee research, Fossey in
gorilla research and Galdikas in
orangutan research. Each of these women were initially under the wing of Dr.
Louis Leakey, famous for his findings at
Olduvai Gorge.
Press and scientists alike call these three women the trimates as a quick reference. If ever in a

article you see this term used, you'll know that it concerns them.
