A clamp, roughly in the shape of a c, but more like a g, used to clamp theatrical instruments to the pipes that hold them. They have a large screw at an angle that effectively makes the opening in the c bigger or smaller, forcing the pipe into the upper curve of the c. They also are the point at which the pan for the instrument is set. To facilitate this, most clamps have a set screw, sometimes called a fuck nut, which clamps a rotating shaft to which the instrument is attached. Tighting the set screw too tight can result in shearing it off, which is a bad thing.
