A street in Chicago that runs parallel to the Chicago River's south and main branches, connecting the Eisenhower Expressway with Lake Shore Drive. It used to just be called Wacker Drive, but when Upper Wacker was built on top of it and cross streets elevated to match, It became "lower." Because of Lower Wacker, buildings like Sears Tower don't need to have loading docks visible from the street and trucks blocking traffic.
As of 2002 Major portions of Wacker Drive have been rebuilt or are in-progress.
