The fourth track on the Legendary Pink Dots album Crushed Velvet Apocalypse, "Hellowe'en" is an instrumental track that's understated and slow, but most unnerving. Wavelike synth sweeps and oddly spaced noises, with the occasional strum of a guitar chord, create a tense and nervous atmosphere while a single bass note slowly rises in volume. A sample of a madly murmuring or sobbing voice rounds out the piece. It's something that you might expect The Goblins to have recorded for one of Dario Argento's films.
