Born 1913
Died 1944

Father of Roger Waters former Pink Floyd bassist. He was in the British army in Italy when the German tanks came to take the Anzio beachhead.

He was a member of the Royal Fusiliers Company C. He was one of many of this group who died in this attack. The entire company, in fact, died at this point.

This attack and his father's death drove Roger Waters to write The Wall, but one specific song, When the Tigers Broke Free deals with his death directly. It is the only song, now that the live Wall has been released, that still remains unreleased in any major form. It is featured in the movie version of The Wall and on a rare single known as, When the Tigers Broke Free - Music from the film Pink Floyd - The Wall.

The Final Cut is dedicated in the memory of him.
