A type of
score display used on a few
pinball machines, as an improvement over the old-style
numeric displays. These
alphanumeric displays contained quite a few
LED segments, enough to allow the display of most letters in a form distinguishable from each other and from numbers.
Each of the symbols below represents a separate LED segment in a character on one of these displays.

These were not used for long because they were superceded very quickly by dot-matrix displays.
