* Syntagm (sin tame) : the set of all possible legitimate orderings in a system. The syntax and semantics of a language form its syntagm - in languages such as English, changing the order of the words changes the very meaning of the sentence! The operation arrangements usable in FORTRAN make up that computer language's syntagm, and incorrectly ordered code results in errors. Traffic laws form the syntagm of legal vehicular movement.
