Walking through Las Vegas
on vacation through the casinos, my little sister remarked:
Wow, seems like everyone is winning, its so loud here!
And I realized, that the machines were incredibly loud when someone would win, easially filling the casino floor with the ringing, however, what sound did the slot machines make when the player would lose?
Since the only noise you hear is that of the people winning, you get a false feeling that *everyone* is winning, which obviously isn't the case, considering how rich those casino guys are.
Also can be applied to other things where the media makes a big deal about an issue:
Can you believe this honey, Town X raised school taxes 25%
(what about the other towns that didn't, nobody is reporting on that)
