softwarm and webbed with sleep
spread infant wings upon the last shafts of day,
come gently into my skin

a desert in another life i
thirst to drink cool reams of your comfort,
wear a hazed wrap of rain,
be ocean-deep

let fishers cast and drift and trawl through me ;
let them snag infinity, gather in their nets and stand
bemused, silent,
conspicuous against a graphite sky

let them stare at these unearthly treasures :
necklace of your paradox,
bangle of desire from your thin wrist,
rare and foreign currency
of your cool hands.
