Phrase describing the
reluctance of
creators of
children's
entertainment (notably
animated movies and
television shows) to show
ramifications (
death,
injury) of the
violent acts used as
plot devices.
So-named after the ubiquitous parachuting Cobra agents every time GI Joe operatives would get into a dogfight - not even the bad guys (that is, the ones who shot red lasers, not blue lasers) died.
This mindset has been criticized by children's watchdog groups.
