The hypnotoad is a creature and, possibly, a character from the animated television series Futurama. It appears to be a regular toad at first, until you spot its weird glowing eyes. The hypnotoad doesn't speak, but it does give off a loud droning noise that helps to hypnotize everyone around it.
The hypnotoad's first appearance was in the episode, "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid", a comic take on a movie with a similar name.
While there only appears to be one hypnotoad, it is possible that the planet is covered with them but we're all hypnotized not to see the toads hopping about. The hypnotoad we're familiar with has pulled some interesting shenanigans that denote intelligence. In one episode it convinces sheep and judges to award it best in show at a farm and ranch state fair. In another, it made some of the staff kill themselves when its television show was cancelled. Some on social media have wondered if the hypnotoad was hired by the Trump campaign at the last minute, but we'll never know for sure.
I would assume I'd be immune, but apparently not. ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!
