Your bedsheets want you back!
I am peeking at them,
stretching their skinny arms like awakening.
Like an impatient cat, almost ready
to drag you down by force if it had to.
We know better, it will recoil in a moment,
waiting gracefully and hopefully to take you back.
But of course, it takes one to know one.
I throw a wink in the direction of your bed,
turn up a sharp glance to make sure you didn't notice,
return to my crossword puzzle
in my patient spot on the floor in your doorway.
For Girldoll. Come on.
