Detroit native and artist who started the Heidelberg Project, and has had his works featured in numerous Detroit galleries as well as others nationwide. He was born in 1955, and has been painting since his early childhood. He is a painter and sculptor, but his works are best described as 'urban environmental art'. He has received several awards, including the Spirit of Detroit Award and Humanity in the Arts Award from Wayne State University.

His colourful transformation of Heidelberg Street in Detroit has attracted visitors from around the world, and has been featured on national news and talk shows. Despite of all the publicity and praise for the project, the city has demolished several of the decorated houses and is currently in a legal battle against Guyton and his organization.
