The violence lives within my skin
It wraps itself around my bones
It doesn't care where else I've been
It never lets me be alone.
I keep it closer than a friend
a hand around each others throats
the only thing it comprehends
no poison for this antidote
It's a part of me, this liability
vindictive, addictive, it must be restricted
and I keep on smiling as though I'm not afflicted
Hiding has made a liar out of me.
