(Latin: "Truce of God")

Peace movement of the 11th to 13th centuries, inspired by and closely related to the Pax Dei movement.

Where the Pax Dei movement sought to protect "the meek" against the aggression of the European military class, the Treuga Dei focussed its efforts upon keeping holy days sacred and banning acts of aggression and war during them.

Holy days, in this sense, were the great sacred events of the Christian calendar (Easter, Pentecost, Christmas), as well as the period from Friday through Sunday of every week (keeping the Sabbath holy).

The Treuga Dei movement soon became an institutionalised part of the Pax Dei movement.
