Student newspaper of The University of Texas at Austin.

About what you'd expect from a student newspaper. Amateur journalists reporting on goings on about campus and in the rest of Austin. The highpoint for most students seems to be be the crossword puzzle. That and the comics page which contains an extraordinary number of student drawn comic strips.

I would say that it is not what you would expect of a college newspaper. It is, by professional standards, a horrible paper. However, by college standards, it is one of the best in the country. It has between 2 and 3 sections daily. It has had a few famous editors including Walter Cronkite. I can only hope that under Mr. Cronkite, the Texan enjoyed better editing than it does now.

In case you were wondering, 14 former Texan staffers have gone on to win the Pulitzer Prize. Also, in case you were wondering, the Texan is the oldest college daily in the South.
