(Eponymously derived from the name of Shonzui Gorodayu, 1577-1663, who according to tradition was the "father of Japanese porcelain").

Shonzui is blue-white Chinese porcelain of high quality, manufactured for the Japanese market in the mid-17th century, presumably for use in the Japanese tea ceremony.
