Started in 1954 by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson; his nickname came from a bout with malaria when he was a G.I. in the Pacific during World War Two that left him with the shakes. The restaurant combined Shakey's twin loves, pizza and Dixieland jazz. I remember watching old silent movies and listening to the player piano there when I was a kid. The chain still exists, but I don't think they do the movies and the music anymore. It claims to be "The No.1 Pizza Restaurant In The Philippines".

Shakeys, even though not even in Oregon, is the number one provider of donated cooking oil and paper cups with Shakey's ads on them (from Los Angeles) to the Cascade Pacific Council.
