Roman politician and general. Died c. 140 BCE.

Mummius' main claim to fame is for (as consul) ending the war with the Achaian League in 146 BCE, by conquering Corinth and ordering the city leveled, the men killed, and the women sold into slavery. Large amounts of art treasures were taken as war booty, but Mummius does not appear to have made any personal profit thereby.
