Justice League Unlimited is an
animated television series that ran from 2004-2006 on
Cartoon Network and ran for three seasons. The series is a sequel to the Justice League cartoon (itself based on the
Justice League of America) that had previously ran on the network. Some consider it the same series as its predecessor.
The concept of the series is that, after the events of the
Justice League series finale, the original members (now referred to as the "founding members") have decided to revamp and expand the organization. Over 50 heroes appeared in the premiere.
Unlike the previous Justice League series, where most of the series consisted of hour-long one shots, JLU had ongoing story arcs every
season.
Justice League Unlimited is generally highly regarded among
fans.
